After retiring from the military, Paul Keller, a Vietnam and Gulf War veteran, dedicated himself to community service. While stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Paul decided to make Fairborn his home and dedicated his time and effort to growing the city and serving its citizens both in his profession and through volunteerism.
Paul started his years of service by volunteering to serve on the Downtown Fairborn Betterment Association, a group dedicated to helping small businesses in downtown Fairborn grow and thrive. As a licensed real estate agent, Paul worked diligently to provide home ownership opportunities to first-time homebuyers as well as military families being transferred to the Dayton area.
Paul’s commitment to the city of Fairborn continued with his election to City Council, where he helped the city develop its first strategic plan to address the need for more economic development. Paul was elected Mayor of Fairborn in 2017, and under his leadership, continued to move the city forward.
He has been recognized by the Chamber of Commerce, the Dayton Area Board of Realtors and other numerous clubs and organizations as an exceptional leader in the community and region. Paul helped found Operation Fairborn Cares for post-9/11 deployed veterans and their families as they reintegrated into civilian life and was instrumental in making Fairborn a Purple Heart Community. Additionally, he has dedicated time to assisting elderly and low-income residents as well as serving as a speaker for various events.
At age 75, Paul was inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame for his long legacy of service to his community.
