Marlin D. Reid, Jr.

Marlin David Reid, Jr. is a veteran, judge, and community leader with a long record of public service in Greene County, Ohio. He served in the United States Air Force for four years on active duty, followed by 24.5 years in the Air Force Reserve, retiring as a Colonel. His military service included roles as a Military Judge, Assistant Staff Judge Advocate, and legal counsel for the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals. He received The Legion of Merit and the Air Force Commendation Medal.

Reid earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Government from Otterbein College in 1963 and a Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University School of Law in 1966. He continued legal and judicial training at the Ohio Judicial College, National Judicial College, and Air War College, graduating from the latter in 1986.

He served as a judge for 27 years, including 24 years on the Greene County Common Pleas Court and three years on the Greene County Court.

Reid has been involved in multiple professional and civic organizations. He served as Past President of the Miami Valley Military Affairs Association and the Dayton chapter of the Federal Bar Association. He is the current Vice President of the Greene County Transit Board and has also been a member of the Greene County Veterans Service Commission, Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce (Board Member), Beavercreek Lions (Past President), Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity (Past President), Masons, Shriners, and the American Legion (Life Member).

Reid’s career reflects long-term contributions to the military, judiciary, and community organizations in Greene County.
